No! In fact, most team members do not own horses or do not have their horses at college with them. MSU's home barn has the horses we practice on, and in IHSA, the host college provides all of the horses for the shows so there is no need to own your own horse.
No. The team carpools to practice and shows so there is no need to own a car. You will be able to get out to the barn.
No. IHSA has divisions for all levels of riding experience, from very advanced to just starting out. You will be placed into a divsion when you fill out all your paperwork and try out for the team.
You do not need to own any of your own tack, but any member who wants to show must have the correct show attire. However, if you do not own show clothes we can find clothes that fit you by borrowing from other showing members until you can get your own attire.
MSUET volunteers at events such as Small Animals Day, teaching kids about horses and our style of riding.
